Patriots should think about Bangladesh

Patriots should think about Bangladesh

Abul Hossain Khokon

What happened in the Bangladesh since the middle of last month (June 2024), no patriotic people wanted. No one cared whether the student agitation for quota reform would end in bloodshed or destruction. The leaders of the movement also claim that they are not involved in the infernal violence and destructive events in the country. Despite this, a terrible event in history has occurred in the country. Based on various information analysis, comments and news about why these incidents happened, this comment report entitled 'Understand, Think, Learn' is presented-
1. The student movement on quota reform was apolitical. But it suddenly became a political movement. The fall of the government became a movement. A peaceful movement turns violent and destructive. Hundreds of people lost their lives. Thousands of people were injured and crippled forever. And the loss of wealth has set back the country and the nation for many years. Who is responsible for peaceful non-political movement suddenly becoming destructive and political? Who or who is responsible for the planned destruction of state assets? In the beginning some harsh words were spoken from the government, but later the students were asked to wait only a few days for the court's verdict by assuring them of a positive solution. But this did not wait. As a result, the incident occurred. So the government is only responsible for the incident? The leadership of the quota reform movement can somehow avoid this responsibility? You have to think about the answer.
2. The ruling party Awami League and its affiliated organizations have also shown extreme failure. It can be said that no one was found to handle the situation. The leadership may be taking party action realizing this. Failing committees are being dissolved. The point to be made here is that Awami League is a multi-class political party based on history. From various democratic movements to liberation war and independent Bangladesh, the party is the milestone of the Bengali nation. The main strength of the party is middle class and common working people. But the current context is different. As the party could not hold on to its original position, there has been an infiltration of the opportunistic, selfish, conniving and religious-business-fundamentalist spirit of the state. Power and greed have become their politics. Due to such hybrids, the party has lost the trust and confidence of the common people by taking positions against the public interest in many cases. Even old and retired organizers have been cast in a negative position. So it is time to take things into consideration and think. Circumstances today have pushed the party towards education.
3. The opposition party, as well as the BNP-Jamaat-Shibir, have things to think about. Afghan-style revolution to take over Khamta is not for this country. This has been proven time and time again. History is its witness. So if you look around a little, you have to move away from the attacking position. If you want to do politics in this country, you have to believe in the spirit of the liberation war, democracy-secularism and you have to be on the path to eliminate the economic discrimination of people. It should be remembered that the people of this country have seen military rule, para-military rule, autocracy, religion-based rule. People know what they have given. But people don't want to bring any of these back. They want peace, they want order and they want to move forward. In a sense, their main expectation is to work together for the sake of the country and the people with what they have. In view of such situation, BNP-Jamaat has only two options. One is to prepare for another illegal seizure of power. Another way is to abandon the illegal path and get out of the mistakes and really go down the path of good for the country. To do this, they have to change ourselves. Instead of pouring old medicine in a new bottle, we should really think about the welfare of the country, abandon the party interest and accept the interest of the people. Along with this, the government should also be allowed to remain calm. "There is a conspiracy" "There is an attempt to bring down" - these thoughts should be kept free. Only then is it possible to work together for the country and the ten. Remember, if we can't work together (whichever party is in power) opportunistic people will commit crimes. With the opportunity to be busy with the government, opposition parties, they will spend their busy time in corruption, looting, abuse of power etc. It can be said that the government has no chance to deal with them. But if everyone works together with one policy, it is possible to pick and catch one criminal. Such a context can be composed at will. People will also support it by a landslide. So even though it is unimaginable, it can be thought about.
4. There are also questions about the role of students in the quota reform in employment. From this movement, they felt that the country, people's lives, country's wealth - these are nothing, jobs are everything. They are studying for job quota or job related certificate. If not, hundreds of people lost their lives, thousands of people's lives were destroyed and the huge resources and achievements of the state were destroyed. If a patriot, one would never have raised the slogan 'Tumi ke ami ke- Razakar Razakar'. If this is talent - then that talent is desirable? Can you imagine what will happen to the country if such talents get power and get jobs? It is noteworthy here that merit means merit. It must be patriotic, for the country, for the welfare of the people of the country. It's not just for jobs at all. Everyone should consider the matter and learn from the incident.
5. During the so-called movement, the targets were state assets, state security agencies, propaganda agencies, offices-establishments-industry-factories-banks-insurance and other development institutions of the country. They were destroyed or rendered useless by burning. Who can do it and who can ask for it? It can only be asked by those who cannot bear the progress and development of Bangladesh, who want to keep Bangladesh under their feet. It wants some international superpower clique. And that's why they regularly provide large amounts of money in some areas of this country. By using them, that power wants to destroy all our achievements, progress and development. We saw that once again through the events of last month. So 'be careful'.
6. Finally, the law and order forces including the army have to be applauded. With a lot of patience, they have played a role in bringing the country back to normal as per the government's expectations. People have shown the face of relief and peace again. Many thanks for this.
